Intrepid Yachting provides a range of IYT training courses suitable for engine and sail powered small-craft skippers and crew. 

Our courses are available throughout North West Borneo - Brunei, Sabah and Sarawak - using either our classroom and boats here in Brunei, or a suitable local classroom facility and appropriately equipped, locally based, boats. 

For recreational boating, our classroom and practical training courses are designed for those who expect to drive, and also for those who will regularly join, the boating journey. Whether it's friends for fishing trips, family for visits to coastal beaches, estuaries, villages or islands, it's prudent for more than one person on-board to know how to manage the boat, find their way to the next destination, use the safety equipment, reset the anchor when the skipper is ashore, or call for assistance.   

We also operate IYT training and certification courses for resorts, tour operators and dive boat skippers and crew.  Training can be based here in our classroom and boats, or we can operate the training in your waters, so staff learn techniques for addressing local conditions. 

Intrepid Yachting is also authorised to test and issue ICC certification, for people who need this documentation in other regions of the world;  such as for bareboat charter in some countries. 

Our owner and chief instructor has over forty years experience with sail and engined powered craft, marine operations for adventurous training, along with evaluation and selection of safety equipment and procedures for recreational and institutional use. A qualified teacher, previously an instructor and director of Outward Bound centres, a tour operator and Churchill Fellow (studying adventure based education and training on land and sea in the UK, Europe and North America), he brings a unique depth of knowledge in sailing, boating and small-craft safety management to Intrepid Yachting's training courses and operations.

Intrepid also sells safety equipment, communications equipment, instruments and general boating equipment, principally for recreational small-craft.
